What events are on in March?

This month the TM team are delivering events on a wide range of topics from criminal justice and pathways to employment, to women’s rights and democratic participation. This month’s blog highlights everything we’ve got going on, with information on how to join us. 

Connected Communities London, a full day conference bringing together stakeholders in local authorities, employers, educators, youth services, and young Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people, will be taking place at London City Hall on March 21st from 9-6pm. The event, delivered in partnership with the Mayor of London, will discuss how pathways to employment, training, and employment for young people can be improved; and will offer young people the chance to talk to employers about careers prospects in a range of different sectors. Available but not Accessible, an HMPPS funded study assessing the extent to which Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people can access purposeful activities in the criminal justice sector; and is the culmination of interviews with over 200 prisoners and staff across 8 prisons in London will be published at a launch event in Parliament on March 27th from 2-4pm. Our launch event will bring together experts in the criminal justice sector for a panel discussion and Q&A on the report’s findings and recommendations. The women’s microsite is a safe space for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller women and a key resource for professionals in the women’s sector. Complete with video resources and a text-to-speech function, this microsite offers accessible information about domestic abuse and safety options.  

Launched on International Womens Day, the site has been co-produced in partnership with Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller survivors from across the country and includes sections on social services, religion, shame, and local support.
