Meet the Advisory Board
Community representatives with lived experience of Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish, Scottish and Welsh Traveller life who guide our work.
Our Advisory Board - Expert Guidance & Community Voice
The Traveller Movement Advisory Board is a vital consultative body that ensures our work remains connected to the lived experiences of Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish, Scottish and Welsh Traveller communities.
While our Board of Trustees holds legal and financial responsibility for the charity, our Advisory Board provides the specialised cultural, legal, and academic expertise necessary to navigate the complex challenges facing our communities today.
The role of the board
The board acts as a “critical friend” to The Traveller Movement, offering strategic advice on:
- Project Development: Ensuring our initiatives are culturally appropriate and community-led
- Policy Strategy: Refining our responses to government consultations and legislative changes
- Community Engagement: Strengthening our networks with local Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish, Scottish and Welsh Traveller communities across the UK
- Ethics & Representation: Maintaining the highest standards of integrity in how we represent community voices
